PROBLEM

As Perugia’s City Council found and restored an old archive of historical documentaries shot in Perugia city during the first decades of the 20st century, it decided to organise a series of public projections called “Perugia in Bianco e Nero” (‘Black and White Perugia’) to show the results of this work

SOLUTION

Being asked to promote the dates of the event, I created a series of visuals that graphically translated more than 20 different still frames taken from the large collection of videos. As the campaign was planned to appear mainly on printed supports, each subject was represented using an optical technique that renders the artwork clearer when the viewer is in motion, recalling in that way the sequence of frames on a film roll

The final result was then applied on printed media such as postcards, billboards, posters and environmental banners as well as being promoted online through animated banners and a dedicated newsletter
